Dr.Sc. (Physics and Mathematics), Professor, a Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Tver State University, Specialist in the field of fuzzy systems and soft computing, honored worker of higher school of the Russian Federation, the author of more than 20 scientific papers.

Alexander Yazenin was born on the 7th of November 1948 in Debrevo, Vyazma region, Smolenskaya oblast.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

He has graduated from A.M. Gorkiy Kharkov State University in 1972, the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. After that he had been working in a military unit 03444 in Tver. From 1976 he had taken postgraduate studies in Tver State University. In 1983 A.V. Yazenin had passed Ph.D. defense, in  1995 he has become Dr.Sc. (Physics and Mathematics), since 1997 – Professor. In 2000 he has been chosen to be a Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Tver State University. Since 2004 he has been a Head of IT Department. Alexander Yazenin had been working as an invited researcher in different  Universities and Research Institutes in Europe. He is a RAS scholarship holder (1997 – 2003), DFG (Германия, 1995 г.), RFBR grant-holder since 1998. Alexander Yazenin had trained 8 Ph.D. and 2 Dr.Sc. In 2001 A.V. Yazenin had been awarded the title of “honored worker of higher school of the Russian Federation”. He had also been chosen to become an active member of the Russian Academy of Natural Science (RANS). He has an award “Knight of Science and Art” of RANS.

Since 2006 Alexander Yazenin has been a President-elect of the Russian Assosiation of Fuzzy Systems and Soft Computing, an establisher and Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Nechetkie sistemy i myagkie vychisleniya” (Fuzzy Systems and Soft Computing), in 2006-2008 he had been a President of the Russian Association of Fuzzy Systems and Soft Computing.

Alexander Yazenin is an Editor of the journal “Vestnik Tverskogo gosudarstvennogo universiteta. Seriya: Prikladnaya matematika” (The Bulletin of Tver State University. Series: Applied Mathematics), a member of the editorial board of the journal “Programmnye Produkty i Sistemy” (Software & Systems), a member of the Presidium UMS on Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciense academic association on classic University education, a member of Dissertation Councils in Tver State University and Tver State Technical University.
