Afanasiev Aleksandr Petrovich - Dr.Sc. (Physics and Mathematics), an Academician of RANS, a specialist in management theory and IT, a Head of the Center for Distributed Computing in the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of RAS, the author of more than 120 scientific works including 3 monograph and 2 textbooks.

EXPERIENCE:

A.P. Afanasiev has been researching behavioral features of optimal control problem solutions and has developed an optimal trajectories extending procedure that allows solving a local synthesis problem. He is known as one of the creators of IARnet and MathCloud systems that are the tools for building Grids of the 4th generation and cloud platforms which allow forming a computing infrastructure in global networks to solve complex scientific problems. A.P. Afanasiev controlled some major projects on creating the systems of control, monitoring, modeling and network infrastructure as part of the RAS programs. He is also a Head of the basic Department of Distributed Computing in the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Technical University) and teaches in the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics in M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.
