31. “Parallel Matlab” cloud service [№4 за 2013 год]

The approach to provide cloud service for parallel computation in Matlab is proposed. The distinctive feature of the approach is providing not only a parallel Matlab cluster, but also a virtual personal workspace with Matlab GUI as a cloud service. The users of the cloud service have the ability to execute jobs on the Matlab cluster from the Matlab GUI. In addition, Matlab GUI can be used to analyze results of the computation. An architecture of the “Parallel Matlab” cloud service is described. The suggested architecture is implemented at the supercomputer center of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics UrB RAS using the Computational cloud platform of UrB RAS and supercomputer “URAN”. User workspaces are provided based on the virtual machines from Computational cloud platform of UrB RAS, which have Matlab GUI and Parallel Computing Toolbox installed. Matlab Distributed Computing Server is running on the supercomputer “URAN”. Integration of the virtual user workspaces with the cluster is done with the help of the SLURM resource manager. “Parallel Matlab” cloud service provides the integrated solution for parallel computation in the popular Matlab environment. Users do not have to install and configure parallel Matlab by themselves, the cloud service is ready to use and requires only a Web-browser. The installation and support of parallel Matlab is done by qualified cloud-platform administrators.

32. Determination of sentiment words weights based on genetic algorithm in the sentiment analysis [№4 за 2013 год]

The article is dedicated to the problem of a text sentiment analysis using a dictionary method. The sentiment analysis is used in many areas, for example, in the marketing research, the recommendatory systems, the search engines, the human-computer interaction, the news analysis, etc. The dictionary method along with machine learning is one of the most effective approaches to the sentiment analysis. The dictionary method is based on the sentiment lexicon; each word from this lexicon has a weight indicating the degree of the word importance. The quality of text sentiment analysis depends significantly on the correct assignment of the words’ weights. This paper proposes a new method for assignment of the words’ weights. The problem of the weight assignment is considered as a multi-dimensional function optimization task. The arguments of the function are the weights of words; the values of the function are the some metric of the quality of sentiment analysis. This metric is obtained from dictionary method with given weights. In this paper the metric is F1‑measure. The optimization problem is solved using a genetic algorithm. The experiments were carried out on a collection of movie reviews from the seminar ROMIP‑2011. The results demonstrate the advantage of the proposed method of weight assignment over other ways, as well as the superiority of the dictionary method over the support vector machine.

33. Basic approach to solving the creating a human-machine interface using dual principle [№4 за 2013 год]

The article describes the usability problem of ergatic management systems (ESA) as a component of the interaction between an operator, an object, environment and control systems in data-processing systems. The most important component here is the solution of creating a complex human-machine interface (HMI) problem using dual principle which maximally takes into account a human factor – psychological, physiological and anatomical aspects of human-computer interaction with the full range of functional problems solved. The research on digital computing systems with artificial intelligence becomes particularly relevant for human-machine interface and computer control. The main motivating reason for the creation of such systems is the security with its high intensity in the modern world. The development of this direction involves fundamental changes in the functional structure of the management process, the creation of the necessary theoretical basis for formulating and solving specific scientific and engineering problems. In this regard, one of the most important design issues of high ESA is the optimal distribution of functions between PR and technical means considering the psycho-physiological capacities of a human. This kind of work is based on the feasibility provided by existing automation devices and computer equipment. The novelty and prospectivity of implementation of the proposed approach is defined by the results to design and build, where a key part may be a prevention of psychological and physiological factors. The creation of a complex system using a dual principle allows implementing the urgent tasks of the human-machine interface organization considering the intellectualization of human-machine complex, construction and development of automated information management systems and diagnosing psychological and physiological security of a person.

34. Russia needs to develope original supercomputing technology to compete on the global high tech production market [№4 за 2013 год]

Nowadays mastering predictive supercomputer modelling while developing the high-tech products is nessesary for the country to competie in the global high-tech markets. These technologies are classified as strategic and are not available on a commercial basis. This circumstance has determined the dangerous technological gap between Russia and the world leaders in aerospace, automotive, power engineering industries. Russia has quite significant position in the global energy market. And this position is the basis of economic, military and political security of the country. Therefore, Russia should build a technological development strategy to keep the share of the global energy market that is sufficient for sustainable socio -economic development of the country. It is impossible without creating national predictive supercomputing technologies for modeling of extraction and processing of hydrocarbons. Using the latest technologies in high-tech supercomputer simulation in industrial production and hydrocarbon production requires the use of supercomputing with a productivity rate of 1018 operations per second (exaflops). As a consequence, it also motivates to develop domestic technologies for the creation of supercomputers, new physical and mathematical models, numerical methods, computational schemes as well as new technologies to create application software systems

35. Preparation of detailed surface texture for high realistic Earth visualization [№4 за 2013 год]

One of the main criteria for providing highly realistic images when Earth model is rendered in the simulation-training complexes is to use Earth's detailed surface texture in visualization process. This paper proposes such texture preparation technology from initial set of same size tiles (photo images of Earth's small surface area). This texture can be subsequently used in applications that visualize Earth models and use distributed computing as well as ultra-large texture technology. The article consideres the decisions of the most important tasks regarding the described problem. Since original tiles are usually set in the Mercator projection, the algorithm is proposed to transform Mercator projection texture to equidistant cylindrical projection texture which is easier to use hereinafter. Also the way for seamless adding water surfaces to prepare texture is described if they are absent in the original set of tiles. It includes using special grayscale mask texture. The method of such a mask creation is proposed and described in one of the sections of this article. In addition, in the paper describes the software complex that has been created based on proposed technologies, methods and algorithms. This complex consists of three applications for Microsoft Windows operating system and one script for the Adobe Photoshop program. They allow user to prepare a required texture of Earth’s surface in a few steps.

36. Building OLAP-cubes using standard web-development applications [№4 за 2013 год]

This paper addresses building of a system working with multi-dimensional analytic spaces used to process analytical data (OLAP-data cubes) by means of shareware, free tools and software to develop web-applications. The paper considers the issues related to development of a database structure, the encoding system and the language used to address to the multi-dimensional space, as well as building and design of a translator converting the expressions written in the language used to address to the multi-dimensional space into the language used to make database queries (SQL data-query language). Application of the approach described in this paper allows designing and building OLAP-data cubes using conventional means for web-application development without using expensive, special-purpose software to work with multi-dimensional analytic spaces (OLAP-data cubes).

37. Preprocessing the video sequence to publicate in digital libraries [№4 за 2013 год]

This paper presents methods for increasing the quality of embedded video sequences when preparing digital books and other digital library multimedia resources. They are presented as processing stages: non-linear correction of image brightness, scene replacement detection with preliminary motion estimation in the scene and preliminary quality estimation of the frame, image stabilization with frame borders restoration methods. Non-linear correction of images brightness performs using modified MSR-algorithm which allows increasing the contrast of image details in of high brightness areas. The algorithm of video sequence stabilization is based on block matching method and allows removing frame-to-frame jitter effect. An interpolation of neighboring frames is used when stabilizing. It provides less image content loss on frame borders. It is offered to evaluate the quality of video sequence frame that allows detecting cases of scene changes and high level noise. A description of testing and results of the increase of video sequences quality it presented.

38. Interactive Data Language application for radiometric systems data processing [№4 за 2013 год]

When researching the "atmosphere – the underlying surface" system, a large amount of data is used that must be processed quickly. It is advisable to use applications written in the Interactive Data Language for detailed on-line radiometric data processing. A syntax is quite simple in the Interactive Data Language. It is not necessary in cycles preparation and run-time functions optimization for working with arrays. The paper discusses the features of the language, descriptions of its classes and objects. There is a brief overview of the scientific data visualization by Interactive Data Language tools including mapping capabilities. The possibilities of Interactive Data Language to build a graphical user interface are considered. These features have been implemented for creating data processing applications of satellite’s microwave radiometers to determine the meteorological parameters. The HDF data format and developed application architecture are given.

39. Application of soft computing for to analyse the knowledge base structure of information system [№4 за 2013 год]

The article investigates the possibility of using genetic algorithms and neural networks for preliminary analysis and optimization of the structure of the information system knowledge base. It describes an example of constructing the structure of a neural network. The structure of the links between analyzed objects and its clustering representation is described after performing of the analysis. As a result, there is a list of classified objects according to given list of features. The study can be used by public and private organizations involved in the management of scientific and technical complex. For example, in the areas of patents, program and project management, storage and processing scientometric information.

40. Nanotransitors circuitry simulation problems with silicon-on-insulator structure [№4 за 2013 год]

The paper discusses the features of physical simulation oriented on circuit CAD. The article is focused on the principles of constructing physical models of SOI MOSFET nanotransistor with reference to the circuit simulation SPICE program. The capabilities of actuation in the SPICE program of original SOI MOSFET nanotransistor models are analyzed. The procedure to adapt a transistor model for HSPICE circuit simulation means using the Opened interface of the given program is described. The author discusses a procedure allowing to optimize topological and electrophysical parameters of double gate SOI nanotransistors with a thin unalloyed working area, with underlap gate and drain/source regions considering the physical restrictions and process requirements. The selection criteria of the key topological parameters of transistors to implement the requirements according the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductor 2012 Edition program for promising applications with a low power consumption level are discussed based on the numerical simulation results. The complex analysis of the transistor VACs and gate characteristics, such as a time switching delay, active and static power, shows that prototypes of the considered units are applicable for high-performance VLSI projects.
